Runnymede CLP

Runnymede Community Learning Partnership is chaired by Frank Botham, Principal at Strode's College. The CLP seeks to understand and communicate local learner needs to partner organisations and to resolve local learning issues by delivering innovative pilot projects. Examples of these projects are detailed below.

Looking Ahead to the Future!

Attendees discovering learning and training options

Look Ahead Day took place on Thursday 27th May in Chertsey Hall, Heriot Road, Chertsey from 2.30pm - 6.30pm. It was an opportunity for people to come along and find out more about how they improve their skills.  The local colleges and adult education were there to give advice and detail what they have on offer.  There was also careers and learning advice available from professional advisers, including one-to-one CV writing and careers advice.

Stepping Up to New Skills

CV workshops were offered to parents and carers at Stepgates School, Chertsey in 2006. The Community Learning Adviser worked with nextstep and the school's headteacher to ensure the project was a success.

New Video for Young People

The local Community Learning Adviser partnered with Eikon to write a successful bid for a video project as well as a transition project for vulnerable youth about to move into secondary school. The video, which was produced by the young people involved, enabled the participants to gain new skills and have the opportunity to interview key business and community leaders.
