Marketing Learning in Surrey
Throughout summer and autumn 2008 we devised and delivered a marketing campaign, commissioned by the Learning and Skills Council to promote the uptake of adult learning in Surrey.
As part of this multi-faceted campaign, targeted on ‘hard to reach’ communities;
- 3 area-specific information booklets (100,000 copies) were distributed
- 2 radio campaigns were aired
- posters were placed within target geographical areas
- advertising posters were located on 230 bus routes
- a website was set up with information about returning to learn and accessing information, advice and guidance services

To accompany the campaign we worked with partners MB Learning to deliver ‘Step Up To Encouraging Others To Learn’ learning champions courses to 44 individuals in Surrey, thus increasing the number of public-facing workers able to signpost to learning within the community.
The project website www.adultlearninginsurrey.org.uk has continued beyond the funding period, leaving a sustainable legacy of access to information for potential adult learners
