Transition Seminar - December 2009
Action for Communities Transition Seminar
9th December 2009, Esher Adult Learning Centre
On the 9th December 2009 members of Surrey's three Action for Communities Partnerships came together to receive and exchange information about transition arrangements.
The purpose of the meeting was:
- to bring organisations up to date with transition arrangements, with presentations from both the Learning and Skills Council and Surrey County Council
- to share good news about progress on the Learning Revolution and Transformation Fund projects in Surrey
- to hear opinions on how Action for Communities should be taken forward in future
- to ascertain how Surrey organisations would like to be briefed through the ongoing transition process.
The event provided a useful forum for receiving updates from the LSC and County Council and full information about presentations and actions is available to download below. It was proposed and agreed by those attending that it would be useful over the coming months for the three Action for Communities Partnerships to meet as one to jointly receive information about transition and planning.
Over coming months Surrey County Council wishes to create a representative group to advise throughout the transition process and the development of this group will be taken forward with the help of Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership. The intention is to ensure that the transition process is effectively communicated and managed.
Details of the next Action for Communities Partnership seminar will be posted on the website shortly.
